Dear Pinecrest Elementary School Families,
It is with great pleasure and excitement that we open the 2018-2019 school year, “Building Brighter Futures!” Our mission remains to maximize the learning of every student, ensuring we motivate them to develop the grit and perseverance needed to strive for their own personal best.
Pinecrest Elementary has been an “A” school since the inception of the State of Florida’s school grading system—we have maintained a grade of “A” for twenty consecutive years. This distinction is not something we take for granted. Our staff is committed to high expectations for all students, providing an academically challenging program while offering a loving, nurturing environment that develops students’ social and emotional needs as well. Our school promotes the Values Matter program through monthly Parrot Club recognitions, where students are encouraged to demonstrate the values taught throughout the school year.
In addition, because of our strong community partnerships and parental involvement, our school continues to be recognized with the esteemed Five Star School Award and received the S.T.E.A.M. Silver Designation for the 2016-2017 school year. We are anxiously awaiting the news regarding our S.T.E.A.M. designation for the 2017-2018 school year as we went for the gold last year! Our Science scores were the best in the District, attaining 90% achievement of students meeting high standards. We have also received the Golden Apple School Award, as well as numerous awards through Dream in Green, including the State’s Green Apple Designation. Last year, our school placed third in the District’s Geography Bee, first in the District’s History Bee, and placed among the top 25 students in the District’s Spelling Bee which includes students through eighth grade. Also, our school has been designated as a “No Place for Hate” school by the Anti-Defamation League for six consecutive years.
It is this combination of exceptional staff, phenomenal students, and supportive parents and community that makes Pinecrest Elementary School the elite neighborhood school that it is. Thank you for entrusting your children to us. We look forward to working together with you to ensure the best elementary educational experience available.
